NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT REGULATION 34 AUDITS
The Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (Pty) Ltd (hereafter referred to as PetroSA) holds Exploration Rights over offshore exploration Block 2C (~180km west of Port Nolloth) and Block 3A/4A (inshore along the coast between Saldanha and Strandfontein), Block 9 (~30km south of Mossel Bay) and Block 11A (~50km south of Plettenberg Bay) off the coast of South Africa. Regulation 34 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (GNR982) (EIA Regulations) promulgated under the National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998- NEMA) requires PetroSA to ensure that compliance with the Environmental Authorisation (EA) and approved Environmental Management Programme (EMPr) is independently audited. Environmental Impact Management Services (Pty) Ltd (EIMS), has completed the Regulation 34 compliance audit and submitted same to the competent authority on the 10th September 2025.
The Environmental Audit Reports are herewith available for public review, as per Regulation 34(6) of the EIA Regulations.
