Enel Green Power (Pty) Ltd, on behalf of Red Cap Impofu (RF) (Pty) Ltd, has appointed Environmental Impact Management Services (EIMS) as the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to assist with undertaking the necessary authorisation processes, including compiling the necessary reports and undertaking the statutory consultation processes, in support of a proposed Water Use License Application (WULA).
Red Cap Impofu (Pty) Ltd holds an Environmental Authorisation (EA) for the Impofu Wind Farm grid connection power line infrastructure. The authorised development conveys elelctricity from the Wind Farm, via a 132 kV overhead powerline to Algoa Switching Substation.
The substation is equipped with a 2 500 L conservancy tank for temporary storage of domestic sewage waste before it is removed for disposal at a licensed local wastewater treatment works. The conservancy tank is situated within quaternary catchment M10D, which forms part of the Mizimvubu-Tsitsikamma Water Management Area (WMA), managed by the Mizimvubu-Tsitsikamma Catchment Management Agency (MTCMA). The Applicant is now proposing to license the conservancy tank through a WULA.
